Biography

Early days
Sabke Morde was formed by Siavash Sabke Morde on October 31th, 2008. Sabke Morde is an independent one-man band/project, in which Siavash Sabke Morde is the sole composer, producer, arranger, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. Because of this independent nature, band struggled for some years to develop an efficient way to play, record and release its music. Initially, Sabke Morde released three original singles: A demo/live track ("Soroode Mardi Ke Khodash Ra Koshte Ast") on May 18th, 2013 + it's first complete single track ("Khorshid") on December 13th, 2013. Two years later, on July 2nd 2015, Sabke Morde released its second complete single track called "Khatabeye Tadfin" (which is Persian for "The Funeral Oration"). This single's title and lyrics are based on a poem from famous Iranian poet Ahmad Shamlou, who is dubbed as the most influential poet of modern Iran.

Debut album: Khatabeye Tadfin
After almost two years, on January 2017, Sabke Morde started to record its debut album. Siavash performed and recorded drums in the studio and proceeded by recording the remaining instruments and vocals in his home studio. This album was released on December 28th, 2017 and it's available on online music stores. The debut album consists of 6 tracks. Lyrics of four of these tracks (tracks 2, 3, 5 and 6) are Ahmad Shamlou poems (or based on them), and lyrics of two other tracks (tracks 1 and 4) are written by the band's sole member.

Second album: 2020 - PeeranSal
On October 2018, Sabke Morde started to record its 2nd album. This album is a story driven concept album. Siavash started to write the story as a novel, but for many reasons, it turned into poetry and finally a musical album. It's a fictional story of an old man living somewhere unspecified, in some unknown era, with an abrupt fate ahead. In the story, there are some vague references to the 15th~17th century, but overall it's fiction.
For the artwork, Sabke Morde collaborated with a local young painter, Sepide Mostofi. Based on the story and some elements of the Dutch Golden Age paintings (a historic period, roughly spanning the 17th century), Mostofi did the oil painting. This album was released on June 20, 2020.
